One of WhatsApp’s latest features is now available to its users. Is it a habit to screenshot messages to remember them?
WhatsApp will roll out a new version of the software that will prevent screenshots for view-once messages. It has added a new feature to prevent people from taking screenshots or screen recordings of their images and videos. It is currently available for those beta testers that installed the latest beta from the Play Store. But it will soon be available to other users as well.
For one who has enabled security privacy, the receiver cannot take a screenshot of a “view once” message sent by the sender. Once they have seen it, they cannot open it. The recipient is not notified if someone attempts to take a screenshot. And also, Recording screens for viewing messages are blocked by default. At the moment, this feature is only available for this kind of message.
A report further noted that WhatsApp is attempting to improve the detection of silent screenshot attempts. Using third-party extensions won’t do any good as it will yield no results. Only when taken from another smartphone, they can access it once more. Not only this, more improvements will likely come shortly. As of now, the new version of View Once images and videos has been released to some beta testers, and will soon be released to more users.
